In this commentary, We explore an alternative solution for the fast fashion industry and consumers by incorporating our research into artwork. Inspired by the language of mass-produced, single-use products, I used product packaging as a canvas for our statement and research prints, and a sewing pattern for toilet paper packaging, resonating with the theme of reconstructing secondhand materials found in the toilet paper roll. While consumers turn to conscious shopping alternatives like second-hand stores, overconsumption remains unaddressed. Even new garments find their way into the second-hand market as 'used' items, highlighting the irony in our relationship with clothing, which often resembles mass-produced, single-use products with short lifespans.
